JL4 Online Baccarat: Rules, Third Cards and Payouts
Online baccarat is a bet on which of two hands finishes closer to 9: Player, Banker or Tie.
- JL4 Lucky 9 Card Game
- To play Lucky 9, you get two cards and add them up.
- JL4 Cards
- To play Pusoy Dos, deal 13 cards to each of four players.
- JL4 Pai Gow Poker
- In Pai Gow Poker you get seven cards and set them into a five-card high hand and a two-card low hand.
- JL4 Blackjack Dealer Rules
- Blackjack dealer rules are fixed: the dealer draws or stands by the rule printed on the table.
- JL4 Roulette Payout Chart by Bet Type
- Roulette payout is a fixed ratio per bet: straight up 35 to 1, split 17 to 1, street 11 to 1, corner 8 to 1, six line 5 to 1, column and dozen 2 to 1, and red or black, odd or even, high or low 1 to 1.
Online baccarat is the simplest big table game to follow, because the cards play themselves. You bet on Player, Banker or Tie, and the hand that finishes closer to 9 wins. It is one of the best-known Filipino card games at the casino table and this page walks through a full round.
How a round of online baccarat runs
- Place your bet on Player, Banker or Tie before the cards come out.
- Two cards go to the Player hand and two to the Banker hand.
- If either hand totals 8 or 9, that is a natural and the round stops.
- Otherwise the third-card rules decide whether each hand draws.
- The hand closer to 9 wins. Equal totals are a Tie.
Card values in baccarat
| Card | Counts as |
|---|---|
| Ace | 1 |
| 2 to 9 | Face number |
| 10, jack, queen, king | 0 |
Add the cards and keep only the last digit. A 7 and a 6 make 13, which counts as 3.
The third-card rules
The table draws for you, so you never decide a draw. The Player hand draws on a total of 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7. The Banker hand follows the chart, which depends on whether the Player drew.
| Banker total | Banker draws when the Player stood | Banker draws when the Player’s third card is |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 2 | Yes | Anything |
| 3 | Yes | Anything except 8 |
| 4 | Yes | 2 to 7 |
| 5 | Yes | 4 to 7 |
| 6 | No | 6 or 7 |
| 7 | No | Never, Banker stands |
Baccarat odds: what the three bets pay
The baccarat odds you care about are what each bet pays, and the table prints them. The three bets work like this.
| Bet | What it pays |
|---|---|
| Player | Even money, a win equal to your stake |
| Banker | Usually carries a commission, stated on the table’s info panel |
| Tie | A multiple printed on the table |
Each table sets its own figures, so open the table’s info screen and read the pay line before your first bet.
Baccarat commission: where to read it
The baccarat commission is a small deduction taken from winning Banker bets, and it is the reason a Banker win does not pay exactly even money. How it is charged, and when, is shown by the table.
- Open the table from the Live Casino tab or the Cards tab.
- Press the info or help button.
- Find the Banker line and read the commission note.
- Find the Tie line and read its multiple.
Next steps
- Compare how a payout ratio is printed in a different game on the roulette payout page.
- See how two hands are set in Pai Gow Poker.
- In the JL4 lobby, find baccarat in the Live Casino tab or search by name in the Cards tab.
You must be 21 or older to play.
FAQ
Do I choose when a baccarat hand draws a card?
No. The third-card rules are fixed, and the table applies them for both hands. Your only choice is the bet you place.
What does a natural mean in baccarat?
A natural is a two-card total of 8 or 9. When either hand has one, nobody draws and the hands are compared.
Where do I read the baccarat odds and the commission?
Open the table's info or help screen. It prints how each bet pays, including the Banker commission and the Tie multiple. Those numbers belong to the table, so read them there.
Where do I find baccarat at JL4?
The lobby has a Live Casino tab for dealer tables and a Cards tab you can search by name. Look for baccarat in either, then open the table's info screen.
